
Wally Bumpas, Jr. (M. Div.) was called to First Presbyterian Church in October 1998. A native Mississippian,
he was born in Batesville, MS in 1962. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1984, he coached track and field
at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, worked on staff with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Jacksonville, FL,
and worked as a teacher and coach in Jackson, MS. He sensed God's call to pastoral ministry in 1988 and studied at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. He served churches in South Carolina and Mississippi before to coming to Dyersburg. Wally
and his wife Reni were married in 1989 and have four children: Will, 16, Elizabeth, 14, Walker, 12, and
Ian, 11.
